HELP! Horrible cold starts, clicking and surging until warm
I have an ’89 FA with 43,000 miles on her. She is my one and only and sits stored must of the time. I do take her out 2 or 3 times a month for extended drives. I do realize with only 43K on her she has spent most of her life sitting. Here is my problem:
Lately, upon cold starting she will fire up within 5 seconds and then start bucking and surging until warm, about 5 minutes. There is also a loud clicking sound coming from the upper firewall. The clicks get more rapid when she about to die…
’89 5th Ave, new u joints & tranny mount question
I just had new u-joints and a new tranny mount installed and now I can feel engine vibration in the floor pan! It’s also noisier now inside the cabin….WTF???
Any ideas why?
Wide Whitewall tires for our M’s
I found a source in Cali called Performance Plus Tire and Auto. They are located in Long Beach, CA and carry a new Chinese brand called Vitour Galaxy R1. They have 2 sizes for our cars: 215/75/15 with an 1 1/4″ whitewall or 205/75/15 with an 1″ whitewall. I bought the larger size for $89 each and they were delivered Friday. These are our only alternative if you don’t have the money for Coker American Classics.
EL Opera Lamp restoration ’89 5th Ave
Thanks to Master M, I just finished my replacement of the EL strips in my ’89 5th. I got the strips off of ebay and they seemed to be of good quality. I hope they hold up!
My new find: ’82 Chrysler New Yorker
I bought her for $1900 with 86K on the odometer. One owner who definitely took car of this beauty! I did order a set of original Chrysler wire wheel covers to replace the plastic ones that the previous owner had on her.
