1966 New Yorker right taillight

Hi gang,

I’m looking for a right taillight for my 1966 New Yorker (not Newport). Doesn’t need to be NOS, but needs to be in very good condition to match the left side. No chrome peeling or pitting. Lens insert must be without pitting either. Lens can …

1965-1966 vacuum trunk release install

Opening this thread to show the install of a vacuum trunk release from a 1965 New Yorker on a 1966 New Yorker. And the findings and subtle differences between the 1965 setup and the 1966 one. As this is “work in progress”, I’ll update the thread as I install the components.

That would be a bigger overall diameter compared to the 14″, but closer to the original 855×14 the car had when new. And since the speedometer is rather optimistic today, so fewer revs per mile won’t do any harm. And 15″ tires are a lot more available… and affordable. And I do have an excellent set of 15″…
