I’m monkeying around under the hood of my 70 convertible and have wondered for a while about these tabs on the inside of the front fenders, up towards the windshield.
What is the purpose of these tabs?

I was poking around in a box in the trunk of my 70 300 if “extra” parts that came with the car, and came across this.
