I have an automatic shift on the floor that is missing the spring and I’m unsure what the expected dimensions should be.

I picked up 2 springs. both ~1.5″ in length
One that just fit the ID of the knob and one with the diameter to just fit the OD of the button. (not sure of the exact mechanics)

I just cannot seem to get it to start the threading on the linkage. only when there isn’t spring does it seem to actually thread… so i’m wondering if my length is too long? …or if the springs…

I honestly don’t know if this ever worked when I bought the car, but the button seems to be always depressed so it never really locks into a position.

Is there an obvious solution?

This might a correct year issue with the rear rod I have.
Is there a stamp on the trans to indicate the year?

’74 360 car

I just started the car for the first time since it was Dyno’d .. maybe 3 years now. The car will run and idle, but the blade does not turn. Water pump seems to turn hard by hand.

the belt seemed tight on the alternator but I can’t imagine this as any issue.

is this obviously bad water pump issue? I would have thought this water pump was the one used during the dyno of the motor.. but it’s been too long for me to remember that detail when I picked the motor up.

I just replaced the fuel line and I’m wondering how long this takes to actually fill?

I’m dealing with a rebuilt motor (has been dyno’d) but hasn’t run since… as I’m finishing up the last few areas.

Would I need to prime the system first? I don’t want to sit and crank on the motor all day if I’m missing some major step with this empty fuel system.
