Thermoquad or Quadrajet Which one do I want?

I’m leaning towards a spread bore carb to replace the Holley 600 that is present on the imperial… Hoping to get some boost in fuel economy, and off idle crispness in the swap.

What are your experiences with the two different type of carb?

At present I do have some quadrajet’s on the shelf, but have always been interested in playing with a Thermoquad, so I am open to exploring based upon other’s experiences.

The whole package that starts in the engine room…

I am purely in the brainstorming phase here, as I suspect a different rear differential would make the most impact on daily driving of my 82 imperial, and that may well happen when the 7.25 gives up. . . Not that I am going to abuse it, but I understan…

Curses! Blue Permatex on the intake manifold gaskets

Anyone got some suggestions on how to break the seal on someone else’s genius idea of using silicone on the intake manifold gaskets??

AS far as I can tell I have all of the bolts out, and my pry bar wants to bend, rather than pop the intake up.. so I am looking for ideas before I do something that I may regret…

BTW this is for a first gen 354 hemi but I figured someone here has run across the issue before..

Thanks ,

Ignition timing…?? I can’t believe this thing runs at all

Last night I decided to check the plugs on my new imperial. The previous owner had removed the lean burn system as well as the fuel injection, so it is now Holley and MoPar Performance Electronic Ignition equipped. . . Car runs fine when warmed up…. OR I have no idea what a good running car really behaves like. That being said I have not driven other than around the yard, to get it out of the way of other activities…

The plugs were gapped at .048, I reset them to .035 as suggested in…

Where to find rubber parts for J body’s?

At this moment i am clueless as to where even to start… Napa is likely not a source, Nor Mopar.. Are there specialist’s that cover all the aged rubber parts?

Right now I am wanting a gas tank grommet?

Driver and passenger door window seals would be really nice as My carpet got wet in the past and it needs to be removed and (hopefully) cleaned to get the mildew smell out..

Front and rear windshield gaskets? That would hopefully solve the water issue

’82 Imperial basic questions from a new owner

This car has not been registered since 1999, and no sign of an inspection sticker, so I am guessing it has been sitting for at least a decade.

I can see that the Fuel Injection has been removed and placed in the trunk.

Holley 4bbl, and Weiand Stealth intake manifold are on the motor w/ a Carter electric fuel pump over the top of the right hand valve cover…(seems like a poor choice of location to me)

Questions: Where do I find basic service information, will a Motor manual cover the…

Hello Everyone,
