C-bodies To The Lake: A caravan from Rockford to Milwaukee, Sept. 7

Inspired by BBTR (now in its fourth edition), this one-day road trip is the first C-body “event” (involving more than just a couple of cars) that I am co-organizing. The choice of Milwaukee was made obvious following @1978 NYB‘s reportage of the Pabst brewery….

The last C-body convertibles are turning 50: Time for birthday parties!

Folks,

We are just about to start the half-century anniversary of the scheduled production for our 1970 model year convertibles. We have a "Last Of The Convertibles" thread already, started by @c-barge. It initially focused on the very last …

1970 Chrysler 300 ‘vert (Hillsboro, OR; 130k, $20k)

Not mine. Some high-price options, but high mileage given the optimistic asking price. The photo resolution is too low to judge condition properly, but the interior does not look super to me. The roof material and finish do not look original to me, and I also wonder about the different colors inside the engine bay (bit of blue, bit of black, shiny white).

1972 Newport Royal 4-dr sedan (green)

After seeing a top-notch, all-original ’71 Newport Royal sedan being sold on FCBO by @scmopar 3 weeks ago, here is a ’72 sedan currently for sale on eBay.

I have not yet seen any post about it, so here goes:

1972 Chrysler Newport Royal 4 door. 400 V8, automatic, power steering, power brakes, a/c. 53,316 original miles, had 1 repaint and rechromed…

300 convertible in Uniontown, OH (just sold, for records)

Hope this is not a repost. I just missed this 300 ragtop for sale between Akron and New Canton in OH. The car sold yesterday, and the seller does not have a photo of the tag. Here are the photos and text in the ad, for records:

1970 Newport convertible on eBay (blue metallic, L-code now 4-barrel/dual exhaust)

CE27LOC247018 is listed on eBay and is for sale in Quebec. Not the car for me, but I like that the seller shows what’s under the seat pad. Very few options, based on the tantalizing outline of the fender tag in the last photo.

Edit: I have posted the tag in the Last Convertibles thread / registry.
