WTB Torque Converter Cover for 1965 273/904

I’m looking for the torque converter inspection cover that would have been used in 1965 for a 273 V8 and 904 transmission.

Dad’s Dart (or one just like it) Restoration

It’s been three years since I bought my car, a 1965 Dodge Dart GT Convertible with a 273 V8. I’ve been collecting parts and tinkering with it since then. Now that I’m getting serious about the restoration, I guess it’s time to start a thread to document the restoration. I plan to organize this thread as a sort of table-of-contents with links to smaller threads for larger parts of the restoration. Some of those threads already exist. Others will be created as I do the work. I hope you…

Engine/Transmission/K-Frame Removal

This weekend I finally took the plunge and pulled out my drive train to start the restoration. I pulled it out the bottom, just the way it went in at the factory.

The first step was to build a dolly to support the assembly. I welded it up out of some scrap 2″ square tubing I had. I bought the casters years ago at Harbor Freight for a different project and never used them.

The 3/4″ threaded rod screws up through the spaces in the K-Frame. There is a nut and large washer above and…

Junk Yard Find: Extremely Rare Plymouth El Camino

Went down to the local Pick Your Part in Wilmington, CA and found this treasure.

1965 Dart 4 BBL Conversion

I got a pair of 4 bbl Carter AFB’s from a guy I met at Spring Fling along with a 4 bbl intake, air cleaner, and two sets of commando valve covers.

I didn’t know how to identify them, but with some help from FABO, figured out that they were correct carbs for my 65 Dart with automatic transmission.

Floor Pan Install – 65 Dart Convertible

The floor of my 65 convertible had rust in the back seat area. From the bottom everything looked pretty good, with lots of engine oil and tranny fluid to keep the metal protected from the elements.

But when I pulled the carpet, the inside was not so nice. The front foot wells were solid with surface rust only. The rear foot wells were very thin and rusted through in places. It was worse on the right, but there were pin holes on the left as well.

Also the center section was badly…

65 Dart Bucket Seat Hole Location

I’m putting a new floor pan in my 65 Dart. The new pan came from a bench seat car and only has 4 holes. The old pan has been drilled multiple times and also dented beyond recognition.

Do the factory buckets use the same holes as the bench seat for the outboard track, or do I need to drill all 8 new holes?

Could someone with an unmolested 65 tell me where to locate the holes for the factory bucket seats?

I have read all the threads I could find on this subject. They all…
