Aluminum intake- lower heat and stop vapor lock

Hey guys- does anyone know is replacing a stock intake manifold on a 1967 gtx with an aluminum edelbrock performer rpm will reduce heat enough to stop vapor lock? I'd put a one inch phenolic spacer under the carb but hood clearance is tight....are there better intakes for reducing heat? They don't make an RPM Air Gap for 440's....
