Well, about a couple of months ago I traded my 1979 Dodge Lil' Red Express truck even up for a 68 Dodge Coronet 440 2 door with a 318/904 8.75 rear with 2.76 gears. The 318 is slightly modded and runs decent. The PO ran it at Great Lakes Dragway and ran 15.2 at 92 mph. Not barn blazing but, it's peppy and does what I need it to do. Plus it gets decent mileage.
