440 engine: Mopar, Dodge, Chrysler, Jensen Interceptor

A good running Mopar 440 engine will be available soon.

I am building a new 440 fuel injected engine for my Jensen Interceptor; when completed I will swap it with my current engine so my current engine will be available for sale. It was rebuilt in the early ’90’s at a competent shop in New England, it now has about 75,000-80,000 miles. It runs very well. Took a 2,000 mile trip last fall and it was flawless, used zero oil. Has Edlebrock Performer intake and a few other upgrades, otherwise basically stock specification. Holds about 45-50 lbs. oil pressure and runs cool. You can currently see the engine run. Has a Carter AFB carb, but I also have an Edlebrock Q-Jet 650cfm if you would prefer.

Will NOT include: air cleaner, alternator, A/C components, power steering pump, starter, and associated brackets; Jensen valve covers and oil pump face plate (Jensen specific face plate).

The casting number on the block is: 4006630-440, according to my reference book, this is a 1975-78 casting.

Contact me and I can give you more detailed information. Will be available for pick-up in Virginia – I will absolutely not ship. I also have a 727 transmission available.

$2,500. I will accept a $500 deposit on the engine with the balance upon pick-up.
