Hello, I finally got all the parts to put my 3rd member back together. I went with a Yukon Gears 3.23 ring and pinion to keep the same ratio, a Richmond gears install kit from Summit and a Auburn Pro Series limited slip.
I have the ring gear installed on the carrier new races in the case. I bought another pinion bearing and honed it out to slide on and off the pinion to make it easier to shim and setup.
Here lies the problem.
I put a shim under the big bearing then 2 shims under the small bearing and install and the pinion is so tight I can hardly turn it. No matter if I add shims are take away shims.
I'm I missing something here. Did I put the small bearing shims in the right spot?
I pulled the 3rd member apart a couple months ago. Maybe I forgot something.
