360 questions Lean burn or What

Need some 360 experts.
Just bought a 360 for my duster. Casting numbers are 4006830-360-9 Build date is 12-13-77
So I assume it is classified as a 1978 360. Can't find the numbers on the heads. Pulled the valve covers and no numbers other than 244 a. It looks like a spread bore intake manifold with the carb holes running long ways. when look inside the manifold you see a nipple that looks like a water heater hose nipple. Also it has a million vacuum lines and a air pump. The distributor has 2 relucter pickups. Is this what is called a lean burn engine? What are the prospect for a descent rebuild?
I want to build this engine tame for normal driving. My manual says it is 175 hp with 8.4 compression. I will put flat top pistons in. Dual plane intake. Stock exhaust manifolds. I been told that comp cams makes a older grind cam that is a 340/360 for mild street engines. I'm pulling out a warmed up 360 and I'm tired of the rattling and shaking so lets make it tame.
Any experts out there there with any suggestions?
Thank You
