100 laps

it looks like they cost me about $350 a lap, not counting cost of fuel and tires. Im really at a loss for what would cause these srp forged pistons to do this (see pics) . Ive heard it was a normal thing on slivolites, but these are a true forged piston. The mixture appears good to me. no light colored pistons or signs of lean or pre ignition from what i see. timing was at 40* but the builder told me 45 was no worries. I have not spoken to him yet. I needed the rockers ,pushrods and pan for the engine im putting in so I figured i would pull the heads an see what i found. #5 has a big crack down the cyl wall. Is it a possible issue with the block? this block has been built 3 times, raced 5 and only ever made one night without incident. first time around it broke a KB piston this same way on the first night out.
If you look you can see the head gaskets were starting to push out. I wonder if this was the result of the steam in the chambers. the heads are milled like 85 tho to get compression with the flat tops. the engine had normal oil psi, and water temp was like 205. noticed steam from the breather after i pulled in. if not for the crack in the cyl wall leaking water i may never have known.

Any help or input guys?
