Yesterday at 2:02pm the car was started for the first time in almost 4 years. My neighbor and I started from scratch with the TDC, and the dist., etc., so I can't really say what I was doing wrong earlier. Thanks everybody for all the tips.
Now... Where's the best place to go for exhaust pipes and mufflers. The old ones are long gone. Midas? Some other nationwide chain? Long-time local guys?
With no pipes, resonators, or mufflers, the engine was VERY, VERY, VERY loud.
