413 and transmission selection

I got a ’65 413 and was going to adapt a AH42 to it with an Ultra Bell but they don’t know when they’ll be back in stock so I was looking different avenues. A 727 would be the next choice, both will be going in my ’63 D100, (yes not a b body but you guys are good) so anything will fit as the straight axle is getting swapped out. I found a 833 local for a good deal but what’s the odds of finding a good used clutch set up. What size flywheel, clutch disc and center hole bell do I look for….

Big block with 4 speed

I have a ’65 413 and on the fence for a 4 speed manual or 727, or maybe a RH42 with Ultra Bell (these bells are out at the moment) I can find a 833 local (tail shaft shifter) but man I would like to find a used bell housing and clutch set up all in one, my crank is a 6 bolt….do the small blocks, flywheel etc. fit, just the bell is different? What about center hole size of the bell, what goes with what…I’m new to the big blocks

413 cylinder head

Part # 2406516, engine is from ’65 with 80k miles, didn’t hear engine run and going to basic rebuild as very little wear inside. If I get a valve job do the seats need to be swapped out? How about then running the larger exhaust valves? I want a bit more performance is the valve size worth it, running larger cam, carb and headers?

Working on rebuilding a ’65 413 and need some advise

Question is on rocker arms and a few other things. How much slop is acceptable with rockers on shafts or are they a fairly tight fit? Also are the oil pumps rebuildable, I see a kit for them a Melling K-63, are they worth the hassle or just purchase a …

Retro fitting 46RH transmission

46RH trans swap question

I’m loading up on parts for a big block/ 4 speed od transmission swap. I’ve found a 46RH trans and yes I know they have a small block bell and will be adapting a Ultra Bell. The trans I found does have a 3 prong switch which tells me it has a lock up converter but also a electronic speedo attachment on the tailshaft. Is it just a matter of swapping it out for a cable driven unit or is there more to it?

Needing info on a ’65 413

Just bought a 413 out of a ’65 Imperial. The numbers on top are 42 A413 and a casting number is 2468030, induction is a Carter AFB, I see horsepower ratings at 340 and 360, what determines this? Compression? 10:0 to 10:1?
