Hey All,

I still have about 15 sets of these mini starter conversion terminals left. They make life so much easier!

I am shooting for a 17X8 rim with a 245/45/17 tire.

I bought 1 of the rims I want and one tire to test it all around before I buy a whole set. This will become the spare if I pull the trigger

On the rear I am golden, but up front it is TIGHT

I have less than an inch and was wondering if any of you have similar clearances and it has worked out.

The LF is especially tight. I’d say only 1/2 inch clearance

GRRrrr, hit a deer in the Valiant tonight……..

Right at dusk when you can’t even see as well as when it is dark and you have your headlights on. She just appeared in front of the car. I got on the binders but locked ’em up and took her down. Smashed up the front end some. Can’t get the hood open. The poor deer’s back was broken but she pulled herself across a field and into some woods. The cop and I couldn’t find her to put her down. I hate that. Poor thing.

Well, the car is fixable. I probably got off easy considering I was cruising at…

New steering column conversion pieces. (auto to manual)

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone here has the new steering column conversion pieces that Classic Industries and Tony’s Mopar parts sells. Specifically the 68-69 pieces to convert from auto to manual column.

Yes, I know I can convert them myself, but decided to try buying them instead. The castings I got are awful. There is an overly big gap between the two pieces, The gap is not consistent at all, and the larger piece (rear) had a flat spot in the circumference. Some of the edges are really…

Drilling oil galleries and oil return holes?

The engine is a 5.9 Magnum.

In another thread a member suggested:

“I would also add , 1/8″ drill between the lifter pedestals to aid oil return, 3/16″long drill from main bearing journal to lifter galley for more oil volume to the mains (it is step drilled from factory) and debur the casting flash.”

I am wondering if any of you have done this. If so, do you think it is worthwhile?

Also, if I open the stepped hole from the main bearing saddle to the cam bearing bores up to 3/16, will I…

Cylinder hone or bore oversize?

Working on a 360 magnum for my 68 val. I am hoping to do a hone job and use the original rotating assy. Someday I want to do a 408 stroker, but that is 3-5 years off…yadda, yadda…

I just measured the cylinder wear with a freshly calibrated dial bore gauge. (I am a machinist, jut not automotive) and this is what I got

Cylinder: max/min oversize from 4″
1) .002-.0015
2) .0015-.005
3) .0025-.001
4) .002-.0005
5) .0025-.001
6) .002-.0015
7) .002-.0005
8) .002-.001

So .0025 seems to be the…

YET another will it fit….. steelies on a 68 Val

Hey All,

Please help with steelies!

Car is a 68 Val. 8.75 rear, super stock springs out back, kyb shocks, standard spring locations. “Stock” suspension up front too, but rebuilt, boxed lowers, 1″ torsion bars, kyb shocks, lowered a little bit, disc brake upgrade, and the later model sway bar.

I was going through my 6 cop rims today (15X7, 4.5 backspace) to find the best 4 for my 68 Val. I had 225/60/15’s on two of them, so I tried them on all 4 corners and they seemed to clear. No…
