Hey All,

I have a Summit Racing aluminized steel header back exhaust system I intend to put on my car. I’d like to be able to remove it when needed to do subframe connectors, easier to get trans in and out, etc.

Without spending a TON on V band clamps it looks like Lap Joint Band Clamps would be my best bet. Yes, no?

Also, can you really get the components apart after they have been sitting in one of those band clamps for a year or three? Or is there some type of goop you can put on…

I have a set of Log type Big Block Manifolds. Apparently you can mill a slight angle on the mating surface of the drivers side manifold and use them for an A body BB swap. I was going to try this but decided to go with a EFI sb motor in my car.

Hey All,

I have an 8.25 sure grip chunk with no gears. It did have 4.56’s on it so I know this unit supports the numerically higher gears. A friend bought this rear for me thinking it was an A body rear, but in fact it wasn’t. B/C I couldn’t use the rear I pulled the chunk and tossed the rest.

I have a set of 11″ backing plates. They are off a 8.25 rear but should work on 8.75 and Dana 60 as well.

Hey All,

I have a 8.25 sure grip chunk with 4.10 Gears. I know this unit is good b/c I ran it in my car. It’ll spin them both. Unfortunately the guy who I bought the car from didn’t know about the clearanced axle retaining rod so he just ground down the heel on a few of the ring gear teeth to get the retainer in :violent1: It certainly didn’t hurt the car while I owned and drove it, but if you don’t like it you could certainly use different gears.
