I’ve been digging all around the internet researching the correct key for this car………getting mixed answers. The best I can tell at ekeyblanks.com is the X1199B.

However, scrolling down info is also conflicting – fits C40 46-48, then says Crown Imperial 40-42.

I played a bonehead move and lost my keys……..came back from Cars and Coffee, locked her up Sunday AM, that was the last I saw those keys – any help is greatly appreciated.

I found this the other day after an extensive google search and wanted to save it for the future since I bought this car in Jan – I am researching to put the last few remaining pieces together. I cut and pasted this link so I know it is accurate, but when I try to pull it back up, says not found.

Big old ’48 Crown Imperial

I read in the service manual the temp range is 157 – 162, & will be fully open @ ~ 183. Bought the car in Jan 2024, nearly 100% original, with 48k miles from a mechanic who got it running last year. He owns a shop & works on a lot of cars, and can’t remember if he took the thermostat out, or not. The radiator has been flushed, some hoses replaced & it tends to runs hot, generally when driving faster on the fwy. Temporarily installed a new temp gauge to get an accurate idea of the true temp…
