72 Challenger Door Regulator

I found that each of the doors on the Challenger won’t roll up properly due to the regulator sliders that go in the widow track are broken. I have new sliders but have a couple of questions for those who have replaced them. It looks easy enough to grind off the flattened metal peg that holds the slider into the arm to remove the broken one. Once the new slider is installed, how have those of you who have replaced them flattened the peg so it stays in the arm? With a center punch or…? As…

Challenger Door Window Up-Stops

I’m getting the doors ready for installing window hardware on the 72 Challenger. I was going to use a different door than what came on the 72. When I looked at the up-stops for the window, the stops that attach to the door sheet metal, the door I was going to use has different mounting for the up-stops. I’ve included photos. There are 3 different styles I came up with. The 72 has ones that have an attached stud that uses a nut to attach it to the sheet metal on the inside of the door and…

1964 Stingray

I must confess, I wasn’t always into Mopars. In 1964, my first set of wheels was a Sting-Ray. It is blue just like my 71 Challenger I bought in 1972, my 74 Charger I bought in 1987 and my 2015 Challenger R/T I bought in 2015. Its number is D438274 with a manufacture date of April 14, 1964. My parents bought it for me when I was in 6th grade. My first new set of wheels. I changed the rear wheel to a slick and the driver’s seat from white to blue in 1966. I changed the steering grips to blue…

Cuda Upper Cowl Black Paint

I was at a car show this past weekend and there were two Hemi Cudas at the show that I had never seen before. One was a 1970 and the other was a 1971. Both had the upper cowls around the vent screens painted black. Was this standard for both years?
I can’t remember if I had seen it before for both years and my 71 Challengers did not have the upper cowls painted black. Thanks for any info.

Wrong Parts Delivered

I ordered a new radiator for the 72 Challenger I’m working on. I ordered from a company I had never ordered from before. I received a pair of headlights, not just the bulbs but the entire headlight assembly for each side, for a 2008-16 Dodge Journey. W…

Torsion Bar End Swap

I have a question I had not thought about before. I have the driver’s side torsion bar removed at this time . I was wondering if the bar can be swapped end for end. I marked the way the ends were originally installed but I hadn’t thought of it before….

Steering Center Link Removal

I had a problem removing the center link from the steering gear (pitman) arm that has not happened to me before. I removed the cotter pin from the nut. I then went to loosen the nut on the pitman arm to remove the center link (tie rods are removed). Th…
