Fender tag help

I seem to recall someone on here being able to decode fender tags… I hate to admit it, but I never really knew what that tag meant on my car. There was a recent post about someone looking to replace his fender tag and that’s when I realized how cool this little piece of metal is.

So if someone here does know how to decide this thing, I’d love some help! (bonus points if you can tell me what may have been on the little metal tag at the upper right…it was painted over at some point)…

Classic car insurance coverage…

I always cringe a little when I post a note that I fear will spark debate, but I am looking to all you sage classic owners to provide this rookie some guidance.

Engine rebuild delays are now behind me, intake and exhaust manifolds are back from the machine shop, and the 440 will soon find its way back into my ’68 300 convertible next week. So now my focus is on how best to insure car?

When it was running 11 years ago, I just carried coverage through my regular policy, but didn’t really…

Battery Help…

I will be needing a new battery as a part of the 440 rebuild for my ’68 300 rebuild. Looking for some opinions on which way to go. My mechanic is leaning towards an Optima blue top, but also suggested the period correct looking from Restorationbattery.com. I am looking for reliable, but I do like the look of the vintage battery.

Thoughts? What do you guys have in your cars??

Thanks!

Magnum 500 Shopping List…help.

I am finally turning my attention to the wheels of my 1968 300 convertible. I have decided on the Wheels Vintiques Magnum 500. I am looking for some guidance to make sure I am purchasing all the right parts, and the right wheel size. I have 15″ wheels now, and like that diameter…I just want to make sure I have the width correct (as well as the other accessories). Below is my current shopping list from Summit Racing…. am I missing anything?…

Got word from the mechanic today that my 440 is back from the rebuilder. Woo hoo! Couple of more weeks to go and my 68 300 convertible will be back on the road.

Temporary Seat Covers

So the engine rebuild for my ‘68 300 convertible is taking way longer and costing WAY more than I expected. This is going to cause a few items to move down on the priority list…one of which is redoing the upholstery. The biggest issue with the current interior is really just the seat bottoms of the front driver and passenger seats. The rest I can live with.

What I am hoping for is a little guidance/input on a good resource for some temporary slip on seat covers I can use until I can…

LED Light Conversion?

Ok, So i have no intent to pit the old hats against the new hats here because I do understand the value of restoring our cars to their original beauty, but I also want the safety that a quick response, super bright brake light brings to my 1968 Chrysle…
