I’m looking at SimplySafe. Anyone got one? What are your thoughts on it or what system are you using and what are you paying for monitoring?

Good Riddance

I see in todays news that the Volkswagen Beetle production will cease in a few days. Maybe this time it will stay buried and we won’t have to look at any more of Hitler’s ” people’s car” ever again!! Never liked the things anyway.

That didn’t take long

Geez… ole Burt has barely had time to assume room temperature and the family has offed his cars at Barrett-Jackson this past weekend. Must have been so grief struck that they couldn’t bear to see the cars in the garage.

Equipment defect traffic stop

A police officer pulled over a buggy driven by an Amish woman. ” I’m not going to cite you for this but the reflector on the back of your buggy is broken and could be a safety issue” informed the policeman.
” I thank thee”, replied the Amish lady. ” I shall have my husband repair it as soon as I return home”.

A Sad Story

I won’t mention any names or locations in this story. It is about our hobby and how it can get out of hand in some cases and maybe ( I stress ” maybe” ) even some shady practices on the part of some players.

The runway is 8300 feet long. They left the end of the runway, traveled 315 feet and became airborne over a ravine, flipped end over end over another ravine and landed on the wheels some 800 feet from the end of the runway. Both men were killed. Their ages?… 71 and 76. Now that’s what I call going out…

USS Indianapolis found

Just caught this on the news. An expedition of underwater exploration has located the USS Indianapolis in 18,000 feet of water. This is the ship that delivered the A bomb to Tinian Island and was on it’s way to the Philippines when it was sunk by a Jap sub. Because of it’s top secret mission no one reported it missing. It’s an interesting and tragic story if you’ve never read it.
