I see nothing in FSM on the door stops and how they work?

My drivers door won’t stay open and was wondering how the door stop, that flat bracket that telescopes into the hinge side of the door works? Should it be lubricated or degreased? Is there an adjustment to keep the door open? It’s really annoying.

Reason timing is different depending on distributor part #?

I noticed I need to pay attention to the distributor # when timing my 301 V8 though I don’t know why. I thought mine was 8 degrees BTDC but after looking at the # it’s 4 degrees BTDC according to the FSM and the glove box manual. Why?

Safest lube for gas tank O ring?

I’m getting a new gas tank for my 57 plymouth. I figure a silicone grease of some kind will work for the filler tube to tank but does it matter whether it’s plumbers silicone or edible or what? I figure gasoline contact comes into play? Thanks as always.

Filler pipe to gas tank O ring leak.

Anyone know where I can buy the rubber o ring that isn’t $30.!!? I don’t mind spending more because this is an 57 Plymouth Belvedere, but “come on Man” I don’t like feeling like I’m being ripped off!
In an earlier post I mentioned that when I removed the gas tank cap I’d hear a whish of air and figured the cap wasn’t venting. I fixed that. Now, for the first time I filled the tank all the way up and over filled it a little by accident. I drove it a few miles and parked it in the garage…

Tire pressure?

My 57 Belvedere has new Hankook Optimo tires and KYB shocks. When driving it drives straight and firm except on coarse or weathered asphalt. I can really feel it in the steering wheel. It’s great on smooth asphalt. Is that tire pressure or the nature of torsion bar suspension? The original recommendation for pressure is like 24 psi cold. But that was in 57. What should I be running these radials at? They’re at 30 now.
