What Is This Called (71 Imperial 4Dr) (Rag Joint)

I have a bit too much play in my steering so I was going to adjust it and take some out. When I started checking the column I noticed excess movement towards the firewall side and saw this part seemed to have broke. I haven’t pulled my tech manuals
yet…

71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

So after saving my pennies and dimes I finally bought a 71 Imp. The price was right and I knew the non-working A/C reflected that but the interior is like new and the paint is a few years old but still looks great.

I want to get the rest back in shap…

71 Imperial – Turn Signals – Clerify

If I remember right, the turn signals on the 71 were fender mounted only and there was no light(s) in the dash panel like most other cars? I’m hoping I can find out if I am correct or do I have some bulbs to replace (dash). The fender signals work fine, still trying to figure out why the hazards don’t work.

Thx

71 Imperial – 8 Track Player (& Tapes ST & Q8)

So I’ve been looking for an 8 track player for my car (it came as an option) and it looks like I found one. I’m an old “Quad Head” from the 70s (4 channel taped & records) so I wanted something different then what was offered. I’m just need a couple brackets then I have all I need to install. The deck is a Lear Jet A-255 Stereo & Discrete 4 Channel unit that works real good. I had hundreds of the Q8s but kept about 40 for myself and I also have hundreds of Quad albums/tapes on R-2-R I can…

71 Imperial 4dr – Installing Front Shocks (how To?)

I’m putting new shocks on the front of my Imperial BUT, what a bear of a job. I found this post on here ( Front shock install/removal )

I’m wondering if this is the best/easiest way to do it? I seem to remember a tool we used (back in the day) that allowed us to compress the shock in order to get the top in the ‘tunnel’ and then there was a release on the handle to remove…

71 Imperial 4dr A/C (repair or replace?)

So after saving my pennies and dimes I finally bought a 71 Imp. The price was right and I knew the non-working A/C reflected that but the interior is like new and the paint is a few years old but still looks great.

I want to get the rest back in shape bit-by-bit starting with the A/C but I was wondering how easy it may be. I’m retired and disabled so I need to have a shop do it that restores classics (checked multiple reviews of place in question 4.9 out of 5 rating), I’d rather get it…
