Have just started a restoration on a ’69 Formula S 340 auto.
First – A bit of my Mopar history:
My very first car was a 1969 Barracuda Formula S fastback 340-4 speed that I purchased at Healey Motors Ltd in Pembroke Ontario shortly after I was married in July 1968. Pulled into the hotel in Normal IL and car was running rough. Noticed I only had abt 10 psi fuel pressure ?(55-58 usually). Checked underneath and it is the fuel pump. An in-tank Walbro 255 that I got from Rock Valley along with a modified fuel tank.

I have TTI headers and the full 2.5″ exhaust on my 6.1 L Hemi Barracuda. It is a great system, however the smallish (14″ long) Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers p/n 17733 don’t do much muffling and there is also an annoying drone when highway cruising. After some research, I decided to install a set of resonators. I picked Flowmaster p/n 15150S. It is a full 2.5″ straight through design (ie no restriction) with a sealed resonator tube along side the main pipe. The drivers side is an easy fit, but…

I’ve been working on a ’69 Barracuda convertible for a few months and thought I should post some pics and restoration information.
I started with the car shown below. It was originally a Y3 “Yellow Gold” body color with D6P ‘Pale Yellow” seats and originally came from near Richmond, VA. It is a 318, auto, console with factory AC.
It will have a 6.1 L stock hemi, FAST, with one of Jamie Passon’s new 5 speed manual OD tranny’s, RMS suspension and TTI exhaust. The AC system will be retained….

SRT8CUDA Build

I bought new repro trim for the grilles from PG Classics,
{3309-STSET Mopar 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Grille Screen Trim} but no way do they fit correctly. They are not bent correctly in the corners and after trying to tweek them every which way – there is no way they would fit like the originals.

So I went back to the originals. They are anodized, so I first had to strip the anodizing before I can sand and polish them and then clear coat. That will take many hours of work, but in the end,…

I’ve got a repro LH remote mirror kit that comes with 2 bezels. The left one is p/n 2999001 and the right is 6027749.

I think the one on the left is correct. Can someone with an original confirm?
