Rag coupler shield removal

So this is what’s going on.

Attempting to remove exhaust manifolds on my 73 Brougham. I have removed all but one, and it is behind the big steering coupler rag shield. Is there a trick/maneuver to access the nut or do I have to remove the shield?
And how is this accomplished?

Thanks for any words of wisdom!

I recently picked up my first C body – a ’73 New Yorker Brougham. Started researching it and this site popped up quite often, so here I am!
Dedicated Mopar guy, my last vintage car was a ’68 Roadrunner. MISS the heck out of that car.
Here to learn and offer some know-how.
