Old but useful painting trick ..

Helping my friend with -51 (?) Packard 400 . Inside door parts needed some special tricks to imitate original panels. We used some window net fabric to imitate leather look a like. Base coat is like medium dark gray metallic and after that we sprayed bright aluminium through this net fabric. Before painting, net fabric need to spray with spray contac clue to keep it in place while spraying an other colour. After this just two coats of clear lacquer. I’m happy with a result .

Bend torsionbar , problem or not?

Do I understand correctly: is it possible that-69 Imp ball joints could be press fitted or with threads? And if so, how to identify without removing? Press fitted is round outside and thread fitted is square outside?
