’76 Volare 4 speed /6 coupe on CL
This looks like a really nice survivor. Unusual optional two-tone paint. Slant six, four speed, 34,000 miles. This would be a hit at car shows IMO. Nice.

’77 Volare Premier wagon FOTD on Hemmings
Well I’ll be!!! An actual Volare wagon on Hemmings Find of the Day feature! This one is….nice, but…. the auxiliary fuel tank spoils the cargo area. Are gas stations that hard to find in Maryland? Otherwise, it is a very nice survivor and comments reflect how rare it is to see any Volare/Aspen these days. I really like the color and it has my favorite grille style of all the F’s: the ’76/’77 Volare grille. Of course the haters can’t resist making the…

I really like the colors, and it is optioned up with power seats, windows, cruise, etc., and a 400. There is just something about the early Cordobas….

Restoring Road Wheels
I want to put a set of new tires on OY as I found that the Uniroyal Tiger Paws have developed cracking from age, although they still have lots of tread left. Anyway, I don’t really like the white letter look that much, and I think I will go with a nice new set of blackwalls. I’m shooting for a very clean, restrained looking exterior. That’s why I want to remove the adhesive black side moldings also. So, I want to restore the Road Wheels before I put the new tires on, and am…
OHMs at the coil pickup in the distributor
Can someone please tell me what the OHM reading should be at the coil pickup in the distributor on the Super Slant Six with two barrel carb and four speed? I get a reading of only 285 and I was told it should be between 1000 – 1200. Amazingly, the factory manuals don’t list it! 285 seems way too low. Thoughts?
Out for a cruise with the Chief
Took my old ’50 Pontiac Silver Streak Chieftain Deluxe out for a cruise. Runs and drives much better than it looks. The ancient Hydromatic four speed shifts beautifully. It’s slow, but smooth – like cruising around on a sofa. This is OY’s garage-mate. Just under 41K original miles, and I’m the second owner.
