I installed my new third member yesterday. When I purchased the rear it didn’t have the pinion yoke strap so I purchased one on eBay. It was for 7290 u joint but doesn’t look right. Should there be a gap like this?

I know this is a stupid question but here goes. How much transmission fluid needs to be removed when pulling the driveshaft?

My 71 Scamp with a 360 had a bad summer vapor locking. I tried different insulators and it made an improvement with "Coolcarb". Would switching to an EFI system like the Holley Sniper help?

I’m looking for a good 8.75 third member 3:23 with either a 7260 or 7290 yolk. Would prefer limited slip but open would be okay.

On a 71 Scamp with a 904 and I’m pretty sure original 8:75 rear would it most likely have a 7260 pinion yoke?

Can anyone tell me what rear and gears should have come with on a 71 Scamp born with a 318 and 904 trans? The guy I bought it from a year ago said it was a 8-3/4 with 3:23 gears. The engine was changed and actually is a 360 which was supposedly “fresh”, not true since I just had it rebuilt. Also I’m questioning the 3000 RPM stall converter, I probably should have changed the converter when the engine was pulled.

Rear end question

I have a set of frames from a 75 Dart Sport that I’ve striped and removed the padding, what a PITA that was. Everything is cleaned up and ready. I purchased new covers and padding from Legendary which came in around $700.00. My local upholstery guy is saying around $500.00 for the labor to put them back together, Isn’t that high?
