Dip stick for ’71 Imperial.

Foolishly lost mine by not returning it to the dipstick tube and closing the hood with it loose somewhere underneath.

Measures 20 3/8 inches from where it meets top of dipstick tube to full mark and 23 inches from top of tube to tip of dipstick.

What is the stock oil pan number for a 1970 Challenger 440?

I’ve seen 440 oil pans with the following numbers: 187, 402, 699, and 971. Not sure of their applications except the two 187s I have were from ’71 Imperials.

Question about RV2 compressor with ETR valve…

I have a ’71 Imperial with Auto Temp II. I’ve rebuilt the compressor, but it is a replacement compressor. On the suction side there is a gasket with the electrical connection to the ETR valve that I recovered from the original compressor along with the ETR valve.

Are there any other gaskets that fit between the compressor and the tube that attaches to the compressor aside from this gasket with the electrical connection?

I have a ’71 Imperial with an engine leaking oil…

The car has 44K miles on the odometer that I believe is correct. I’ve pulled the engine (first time it’s been out of the car) to replace all gaskets and seals. Also think I need to replace oil pressure sending unit. I plan to degrease, prime and paint the engine when done.

I’m wondering how far I should go with the tear down. Should I replace timing sprockets and chain? Should I pull the heads? I do need to replace all valve stem seals. Rings? (I have a new set of Hastings standard…
