Drop Top Duster

Many years ago I did a short stink with the Air Force at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. You come across all sorts of cars, modified and otherwise overseas. It so happened at that time, somebody on the base had a Duster modified as a convertible. I nev…

Anybody try the 18″ metric Charger\Challenger wheels?

I have a 2010 Challenger and in my garage, I have an extra set of rims from a Charger with snow tires mounted on them. I’ve heard conflicting info on using them so I threw one on the back end of my stalled project to check. Don’t look bad. Fill out the wheel well real nice and don’t touch the spring (unlike the stock Mustang Bullitt rims).

Anybody out there using the 18″ rims?

High Tech Train Wreck

I bought this car in 1978. It went from a 318 to a 360 to a 413. I can tell you the last time I had it apart. June 1984. I was on leave from Air Force training, came home and put it back together in my buddies garage. We had to get it on the road to move it from there to a storage unit in Midland, PA 15 miles away. I got it running, made the trip, locked it up and kept it there until 2008. Now, after all of that time, it’s in MY garage and I’m taking it apart…

Question for those running 17″ Mustang Bullitt wheels – spacers

For those running the 17″ Bullitt rims, are you using spacers? If so, are they for the Mustang or some other application? What are the specs? Are they hub centric?

Any help is appreciated.

Roll yer own bigger brakes (maybe)

OK, so I’ve got this First Gen Dodge Dakota (87-93) front suspension project and after some good beer searched the internet and came up with a plan for slightly bigger brakes. Goes like this:

Cut down the stock Dakota 5″ x 4.5″ disk brake rotors to take 98-02 Ford Crown Vic rotors. Use 95-00 Lexus LS400 aluminum four piston calipers and fab a bracket to hold it all together. Easy, yes? Well, not so bad so far. The Crown Vic rotor is 12.43″ and 28.1mm wide. Near identical to a Lexus rotor….
