SO I missed another show…

Well, this marks the third year missing Cruising on Main st. First year back in CT I had nothing to show. Last year Bev wasn’t even registered. This year, though I got the gas tank set last week, I was driving along and noted that I was white knuckling it all the way. Took her home and found that the bearing race on the passenger side had eaten itself into the hub… on the driver side, I found that there was a good 1/8″ play in the output shaft of the steering box. Just didn’t feel like 65…

Wheel bearing wierdness

Hi all,

So I decided to do my wheel bearings last night after having them in a box for about a year. There didn’t actually seem to be any slop in them as they stood but I figured I had them so why not.

Driver side was fine, races were clean so I cleaned everything out, packed the bearings, installed and adjusted. Aside from finding a good 1/16″ play in the output shaft of my steering box and a WHOLE lot of negative camber on the drivers wheel alone (other issues to be attended to soon)…

Gas Tank Sending Unit

I ran into an issue I described in another thread but wanted to ask:

I ran the Monaco on the 4th, put some gas in it and parked it for the night. The next day there was a pool of gas under her. I dried all that up as best I could then went looking for the leak. Turns out that the lock ring around the sending unit had loosened up, not sure why other than that I hadn’t seated it properly when I did the tank ..

Anyway, I can’t seem to get the car up in the air enough to get a good grip or…

Anyone heard from BeatersRus?

Hey all,

Not sure if anyone talks to @BeatersRus outside the forum but I’ve been trying to get hold of him since July and he seems to have dropped off the planet. … certainly off the forum.

Anyway, if any of you know how I could contact him otherwise, I purchased a bumper from him in July .. still has the bumper and the dough. Not trying to start a war or anything, just want to try and get it. If I can’t, I’ll just chalk it up to oopsy.

Thanks

Home Sweet Home

I’m over the friggin moon to announce that closing on my wife and my new home is scheduled for this Friday!

It’s been a long and ridiculous trip home. All this started in 2012 (!!?!?!??). I moved back to the USA from Montreal and rented a 625 sq ft cabin next to my land in Stafford, CT. The idea was to live in the cabin (potentially buy it) and build on my land over the coming years however, after a rotten 75′ maple tree fell on my 2014 Ram 2500 and my landlord went nuts and clear cut…

1968 Chrysler New Yorker

This isn’t mine but I’ve had eyes on it for a long time and it seems it just came up for sale so I did my C Body dork duty n popped by to have a quick look!

1968 Chrysler Newyorker 440, 61,000 miles. Runs beautifully, only issue I found was a leaky right bank valve cover. Power windows (not vents)rear two are sticky but work. cruise control, non a/c car. Interior is very clean, no splits anywhere. All glass is intact, vinyl on passenger side is loose from the upper trim but the metal is all…
