Fuselage AM to AM/FM swap

I have a ’73 Plymouth Fury that came out the factory with an AM radio. My goal is to find a factory AM/FM radio, hook that up and just replace the original speakers and use an FM transmitter connected to my phone. I’m wondering if the speaker configuration is different in a car with FM radio compared to an AM radio optioned car? In other words, does the dash have two speakers for stereo? I haven’t taken it apart to check yet but I’m questioning if I’ll need to make any modifications to the…

Undercharging- Alternator Pulley swap?

So, since these C-body Mopars are reportedly notorious for undercharging I’ve been researching and have found some information on doing an alternator pulley swap. Has anyone done a pulley swap? Any recommendations on a quality alternator that addresses this issue? I have a 1973 Fury with a 400. I still have my original alternator but I can’t find anyone around here that is willing to rebuild it. I did find a resource about the pulley swap but I don’t know what pulley would be correct and I…

4 barrel intake swap

I’m going to swap my 2 barrel carb for a four barrel setup. I have a 1973 Fury with a 400 in it. Any particulars I should be aware of? Will any four barrel intake from another 400 work, regardless of year? Are there other Mopar engines I can get a compatible manifold from?

I can’t drive – SEVENTY FIVE! Or can I?

I’ve got a question that probably shows my lack of mechanical know-how, but I don’t mind looking dumb so I’m going to ask:

Are these big, old Chryslers ok to drive interstate speeds of 75 or higher for long distances? This is of course only in situations where the car is mechanically sound. I ask because they were made when highway speeds were 55 mph. I want to make trips to Denver (or further) which is 90 miles one way but it sounds like I need my rear end rebuilt in my ’73 Fury and I want…

I can’t drive – SEVENTY FIVE! Or can I?

Steering column vibrating once I get to 75mph.

The title pretty much says it all. For whatever reason, 75 is the magic number. The vibration isn’t so bad that the passenger feels it but it’s very noticeable to the driver.

So, I went on a journey yesterday and put on about 250 miles. I got back home and I was stopping at 7-11 for a drink. As I’m turning into the parking lot, my OIL light flips on for an instant and then turns off. Today, I’m going to the grocery store and again, as I’m pulling into the parking lot, the OIL light comes on again and stays on for a few seconds and then turns off. I just checked my oil last week and it was fine but I have been noticing a leak…
