360 runs great one day and then poorly the next

Hopefully someone out there can point me in the right direction. My brother-in-law has a 360 with a fresh rebuilt Thermoquad and having running issues.

New engine compartment wiring, good coil, ballast resistor and electronic ignition module, new distributor and fuel pump. There’s no intake leakage and fresh fuel in the tank. Even swapped the TQ with a new Edelbrock with same results.

It didn’t matter with air cleaner on or off before. Started it today with air cleaner off and began to ran…

SB shaft mounted spring compressors

Has anyone has success in using this compressor from COMP Cams 5323 Shaft Mount Valve Spring Compressor?

I have CompCam 901-16 springs installed on my 340 J heads with 2.02’s. I need to replace the seals with heads installed.

Is there a better tool out there that anyone might have experience with?

Tks

Rings for KB pistons 4.080

Had a discouraging break-in this year, too much oil consumption and burning. Engine work done by a reputable machine shop, boring and hone completed properly. New seals were used from Comp spring kit (deflector type seals). Leak down was conducted and results were on average 6%-10%.

Looking into better rings for Keith Black KB243-040 Hypereutectic Flat Top pistons 4.080 bore require 5/64, 5/64, 3/16? The Seal Power ones just didn’t break in well (1500 miles), too much oil consumption and…

Can’t get power brakes to work

Equipped with factory front disc and 10 inch rears all pads/rotors and shoes/drums replaced. I’ve replaced the booster (Midland-Ross) and check valve and still have no power braking action. When this car was new, they worked beautifully. Vacuum is at 18-20 and rear brakes adjusted. Any hints would be helpful.

Fuel sending units

Does anyone know if the the part number 2421493 is interchangeable with the 3621615? The 73 Duster calls for the 3621615 and I have a 2421493 that I want to use. Any input would be very helpful. Pic is of the 242 one.
