Battery blowing voltage regulators “why”

Ok guys
answer me this. I’ve been blowing regulators for a while. Amp meter would jump wildly. It would burn up the electronic modules and other things. Finally just for the heck of it I changed out the battery with a smaller cca battery I fhad in the shop. Problem solved.
I just want to know what could be wrong with a battery to cause this? The battery always started the motor it never need charging and when ever I checked the voltage it would be 12.50 or better. I took it to…

la 360 rocker arm oiling

I need an expert again.
I just replaced the cam and lifters in a la 360. I still have the intake off the engine. I used a drill to prime the oil pump. the drivers side oils so much I had to put the valve cover on that side to keep the oil from overflowing. The passenger side rockers don,t get any oil at all.
Both side lifters get oil,but both side lifters have air in them. It’s so much the oil is foaming just priming off of a drill.

360 questions Lean burn or What

Need some 360 experts.
Just bought a 360 for my duster. Casting numbers are 4006830-360-9 Build date is 12-13-77
So I assume it is classified as a 1978 360. Can’t find the numbers on the heads. Pulled the valve covers and no numbers other than 244 a. It looks like a spread bore intake manifold with the carb holes running long ways. when look inside the manifold you see a nipple that looks like a water heater hose nipple.
