I picked up a 727 that I hope to use in my 71 Barracuda which has a 904 in it now. I know I’ll need to shorten my driveshaft but is there any difference in shifter linkage. It’s a floor shifter if that matters.

Picked up a nice original 73 340 motor with its matching 727 trans today. Was told everything worked fine when it was parked years ago.

Will a 904 hold up to the power from a 340? The 904 was rebuilt by previous owner to stock configuration. The 340 will be similar in power to factory specs but a little lower in the power band with less top end.
