I’m looking for a hammer crimper, for 6 gauge alternator wiring upgrade. Can’t believe it’s not in stock in any hardware store or autoparts store. They sell the wire and lugs at those large gauges but don’t have the crimper in stock!

Thermoquad accelerator pump nozzle?

I’ve rebuilt an early thermoquad and am having trouble with the accelerator pump nozzle. One side must be slightly clogged. The other has a solid stream. I’ve tested it off the carb as well. Clearly it’s the nozzle and not a check valve thing. It wouldn’t affect just one side anyways. So, any ideas on cleaning? I’ve got some small wire in there but it’s tough to get any strong action. Currently soaking in boiling water. Tried soaking carb cleaner. Know where to get a new one? It seems to be…

I have a 66 Newport with 383 and points distributer. I converted to pertronix ignitor ii though. Still I’m pretty sure I need a working vacuum advance. All that’s available that I can find are NOS for serious $$$… Where are they?

Trans cooler interferes with lokar kickdown cable

Anyone install a lokar kickdown cable? The transcooler lines are directly in the path of the cable from it’s tiedown at the back of the trans to the kickdown lever. It’s like lokar never had seen a trans with cooler lines. Am I supposed to just let it rub on the steel line? I would bend the line, but the cable is aimed directly thru the center of the inlet/outlet of the trans cooler fitting…
