1973 Barracuda

Thought I would post this here first. I need to sell my 1973 Barracuda. It is originally a 318 auto car, now 360. Has A/C, disc brakes. It is very rust free. It has little bitty rust spots from where rocks have chipped the paint. The floors are excellent. Interior is white with black carpet. Will need a new dash. Tires are in great shape. Now for the not so great stuff(though not horrible)-the engine had a main cap come off while driving. I immediately shut the engine off when it did and…

Advice needed. A journal cap came off!

OK, here’s the deal….. Car broke down last month, something pierced the oil pan, lost my oil. Shut the engine down immediately. Finally pulled the oil pan. My journal cap(between 1 and 3) came off. I guess the previous owner didn’t torque it properly. So, here is my thoughts, and PLEASE all you engine gurus tell me if I am thinking right. Pull the crank, get it reground, get new bearings, reuse the rod bearings. Put the new bearings in for the crank, just torque the rod bearings. Am I…

need a smallblock

Help! I am a military member who just moved to Alabama and wound up with a bad engine. I have a 360 in a 1973 Barracuda, I wound up with a hole in my oilpan. I was investigating what happened and just got in a motorcycle accident. I am now unable to re…

Hemi Toy

Anyone ever see a battery powered hemi model? It runs on batteries and has clear components so you can see the internals. Didn’t see a year produced on the box. Also found a 69 Satellite owners manual.

IDing a 360 converter

OK, this is my first 360, I just pulled the tranny off the block and don’t see a weight on the converter. I am correct that it should have a welded weight somewhere, right? There is a very small piece of metal on the outside diameter(if that makes any sense). But I don’t think I would consider it a weight. Can somebody help a fellow out(maybe a pic)? Want to make sure I have the right converter.

Will this work on the street?

I have found a rebuilt 360 for sale(great deal), 030 over, about 11:1, roller rockers, and a Engle cam 557/575. My question is with the compression, should I worry about pump gas? I think the cam will be too much, I would go with something around the 268 or 272 Comp. If the compression is too high and I go with say thicker gaskets, now I am messing with the quench. This will be a real driver, I am concerned this may be more work than it is worth for the street. I am reasonably competent…
