I have a '73 Jensen Interceptor with 440 / 727 transmission. The engine is very mildly tweaked and has stock exhaust manifolds. The starter was replaced about 15 years ago and seems to be getting tired - when warm, sometimes it strains to turn over that big Mopar (the battery and connections are good).
Before it dies, I'm going to replace it with a hi-torque, gear reduction starter. There appears to be 3 made for the 440: MSD at about $216, Powermaster at about $175 and the APS Racing at about $140.
Does anyone have experience with any of these? - good or bad. I only want to do this job once!
