Testing the waters – ’71 Dart Swinger

Thinking of selling my Dart. Originally I was in the market for a Duster but ended up pulling the trigger on this Dart. It's a great car but I'd rather have a Duster plain and simple. I've only had the car for 7 months, it's hardly been driven and is garage kept. Never seen rain since I've owned it. Original California car, purchased from the second owner in southern Utah near Vegas. Have clear title and some old records to go with. Current registration and inspection in NY State. Get in and go!

Basic specs: '71 Dart Swinger, B5 Blue w. black vinyl top, B5 bench seat interior. 3182bbl/904/7.25, column shift, A/C. True dual exhaust all the way back with Flowmaster muffs, nice deep tone. Large bolt rallies, disc brakes in front. Has air shocks in back. Runs good, starts up no problem, accelerates fine, shifts fine, stops great, no handling issues.

Body is very clean, mostly straight and 99% rust free. There is some surface scale in the spare tire well area but looks like it could be cleaned up with a wire wheel and painted. Small spot on hood where paint is peeling but no rot or major rust. Engine bay is very clean. Underside looks brand new. As is typical with these cars, the front and rear valance are a little tweaked but not in terrible condition. All trim is present, intact and looks great. Two small tears in vinyl roof but is in otherwise excellent condition. Bumpers look great, chrome is excellent and shiny. Grille is in nice original shape.

A/C works but is currently not operational due to a worn out climate control unit which is being repaired, just looking for parts. I am thinking of ditching the A/C completely unless someone wants it this way. In any event, all parts for A/C will go with the car.

Some other minor issues - there's a valve cover leak, it needs a new water pump and a new exhaust gasket at the manifold flange.

Have a cool, hard-to-find radio delete plate form a non A/C car that will go with which is part of the reason for ditching the A/C.

Car is located in Huntington, NY 11743.
