supercharged slant 6 dart for sale

Post subject: blown 66 dart GT for sale (Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:39 pm) I am selling my supercharged 1966 Dart GT 6500.00 obo.

I bought it with the GMC supercharger and Dutra Duals already installed. It was an Arizona car until May 2008 and still has an AZ registration and title. It is currently stored in my climate controlled garage in Harrisburg PA. It will be at the Chryslers of Carlisle on Friday and Saturday on the show field.

We took the car to Drag Week 2008. It performed like a champ with one exception. It was constantly bogging off the line. This is the first supercharged car that I have ever had and my knowledge of carbs is pretty basic. I just finished installing a brand new Holly 450 with mechanical secondary and it has helped a lot. Someone with greater knowledge should be able to get more out of it.

Before Drag Week I installed the following:
- rebuilt 8 3/4 rear with 3.23 posi, 5 on 4 bolt pattern 10 inch drums
-spindles and 10 inch drum brakes from a V8 1966 Dart GT with new shoes and turned drums. The brakes were from a car that I am upgrading and making into a road racer.
- shortened and balanced drive shaft for new rear
- I installed the newly upholstered package tray from the race car into this car because it didn't have one when I bought it. Not surprising for an AZ car.
- New stereo and 6 x 9 speakers with AM/FM CD and Ipod hookup.
- Tachometer
- windshield washer pump and reservoir
- installed a hood with spray bomb paint job and hole cut for blower with hood pins
- changed oil and trans fluid

We ran 1067 miles and 65 1/4 mile passes in 6 days, had no trouble except an occasional leak from the heater core. It was 100 degrees and 95% humidity on the freeway the day we had the leak. It hasn't really happened since, but I am including a new heater core.

Also available are 2 - 15 x 7 rally wheels that we installed in Bowling Green when it came off the trailer and removed when it came off the trailer in Harrisburg. Also, the Carter AFB that I just took off. I never was able to find out what size it is, but if they made a 390, that could be it. It is quite a bit smaller than the Holly. 150.00 for the wheels, 150.00 for the carb.

I will get more pictures posted when my regular computer is fixed. These are the only pictures that I have access to right now.

The car is in overall fair to good condition. It is rust free, but with AZ comes some paint issues. It will mostly buff out, but there is some checking. The interior has replacement seat covers and dash pad, fair and there is some where on the door panels where you would normally touch it. Carpet is faded in spots with rubber mats.

I was told the engine had a stock rebuild about 43k miles ago. We used 1 quart of oil for the whole of Drag Week. Since getting back I replaced the oil and trans fluid again, because we had fun beating on it.

I know it is cliche, but I really hate to sell this car. I am only because, with the other Dart almost finished I will be starting on another slant and my wife is insisting that it have AC. The one time we had car envy was not at the track, but on the highway, when we were passed by a Roadrunner and Torino with their windows up in the 100 degree weather.

I am sure that I have forgotten something. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will answer them the best I can. I can also arrange a test drive at almost any time. I work from my house, so it is right next door.
