Something resembling progress

I finally finished the 2-barrel to 4 barrel conversion on the Dart. Most of the day was spent fabricating a crude bracket for the throttle cable, a crude bracket for the coil and a kickdown rod. A few blasts up and down 6th Avenue (a nice stretch of pavement to play with the throttle that's close to home in case something goes wrong) showed very promising results. I may soon post pictures of the Mikegyver fabricated bits for the amusement of all.

The ignition timing is somewhere in the "run decent without pinging" area of the spectrum, so it may run better once it's been tweaked. The single exhaust is most certainly a bottleneck, but it's on the list of stuff to fix.

While strolling around Home Depot for fabrication materials, I scored a Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 for $92. Scratch-and-dent items rule! Maybe I'll get around to doing some wiring in the near future such that my house doesn't burst into flames upon use.

Here's something that has nothing to do with anything. It just seems a good end to a good day...
