I seem to be having a tough time locating a small block bell housing with a 4.807 bearing retainer hole. There are also plenty of bell housings with the smaller 4.3 holes.................... so my question/ thinking is, if I get a bell housing with the smaller hole and I do know a great machinist, just have the hole enlarged to accommodate the larger bearing retainer. Thoughts??
Reason for this is a got the tranny (with the 4.807 size bearing retainer) for nothing and it is in great shape and I want to use it.
