Rear End Drop…….

This might sound a little stupid, but I rather be safe than sorry. I figure there have been others out there that have done this and know the in's and out's of it. I received my car back all painted on the underside and top side and while looking it over in my driveway I noticed that the rear shocks were not attached. When my friend, (which is a Chey Man) was putting it back together, the brackets that are under the springs and bolt on the shocks were backwards. I have to now switch them over. I'm doing this in my driveway and I am an old fart. I have the car jacked-up and on jacks that support the body. Rear wheels are wedged to stop it from rolling. The front end is also up on a couple of ramp type supports. The rear wheels are just, just off the ground. Also I have supported the rear end or third member,(I think what it's called) so it doesn't flip over when unbolted. Now the question is, can I undo the U-brackets bolts that tie in the axle and springs, take the shock support brackets off and switch them back to the correct side and then reverse the order to put it back together. Can this be done safely this way. Thanks Ed.............
