I got the latest issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines today.
Mannix's 68 Dart GTS is in it!
It was modified by Barris for the show, and you may already know, there was also a 69 in the series (which was sent to the crusher years ago) and a few Barracudas after that. Mike Connors and Barris helped to verify the car, its history, and signed the dash for the current owner.
The story on where he found it is kool too.
This issue also has a 427 Comet, a Fairlane, a Firebird, and the Muscle Machine of the year, a Cutlass, (2 years in a row for Buick).
Every month they have diecast reviews, reader's rides, how to's, and my favorite section, the auction cars. They have been featuring old school pics of drag racing for some time now, with comments from the people who actually took the pics. Last month there were pics of the very first Ram Chargers, when it was 2 words, and a 63 Tempest Safari wagon with an experimental all aluminum 1961 389 complete engine from Mickey Thompson's garage, in the crate until the 90's.
All this is captured on-line and easy to sort, with some good on-line perks with a subscription.
This is no doubt the best car mag. I never hesitate to renew my subscription.
