As it turns out I need a non-71 Demon or Duster or Dart gas cap. I replaced the fuel tank a few years ago and tore out, with extreme prejudice, the old fuel tank vapor return system and at that time went from a non vented gas cap to a cap with pressure relief. Ya gotto let out the fumes or risk bleveing the tank. One of our members, Wilbanks, was kind enough to offer an original, non vented, cap to me and when he sent me pictures I realized my bobo. Below is the cap I need. The gaskets homemade by the way. ya I know it's also supposed to let air in as the fuel level drops.
