Found the following link while trying to find a cheap spring and retainer upgrade on my dart's 318 with magnum heads. Mopar Performance has an upgrade kit but it is about $300 for the springs and bigger retainers and it is the only option. Comp cams doesn't even offer a kit to match my cam with out machining the heads.
It uses GM V6 springs and retainers.
Free Length: 1.875"
Travel before coil bind: .81"
Coil Bind Height: 1.065"
Spring Rate: 330lb/in
A member from moparts dot com already spec'd the springs and it says it will work with a moderate cam. I am running a comp XE256 so I think I will be alright.
I just went to the local GM dealership and ordered the springs and retainers for $134 total (with a discount) and they will be here in 2 days. GMPartsDirect is $127 shipped. Very cool. Has anyone here used these before?
