Close Call On Bad A$$ Hill

A good freind had a close call this evening at work in the Horn Basin gasfeild in northern British Columbia. This is a piture of the hill I took this time last year. It's alot steeper than it looks. He was going down the hill in a Rock Truck loaded and while passing the grader that was coming up the hill the box slide over the side pulling him sideways then the rear wheels hit a culvert flipping the 60 ton truck on its side. The ROPS saved him from serious injury but he's banged up pretty good.

Even the grader went off, they all had to be pulled out with a D8 cat. We work 12 hrs a day 7 days a week up there, and it makes for long days when the conditions a like that, I usally stay for 45 to 60 days at a time. I should be heading up in the next couple of weeks, its been a slow year but thing look better for this winter.

FYI the Horn Basin if 4 hrs northeast of Ft. Nelson BC, which is Mile 300 on the Alaska Hyway.
