I'm not anti-electric vehicles myself, I think there's a place for them (not for long trips, but fine for commuting if you have your own garage and charging capability). And I do have an electric golf cart, plus virtually all my power and lawn tools are now cordless electric.
But, manufacturing ANY new vehicle generates a lot of CO2. Plus new vehicles get driven much more than collector cars. So while my old Mopars might generate more CO2 out the exhaust per mile driven, my old cars...
