I was driving with my son in the 80 Volare yesterday….nice evening drive……after about 10-15 minutes I realized that my left leg was hot…..

We took the carpet out a while back to look for the water leak…..and havent put it back in yet (havent figured out the leak)….

The tranny hump is HOT — as in touch it for more than a second or two and it BURNS ya.

My Cuda’s hump gets hot , and that is with carpet…..so maybe its the same …but DANG.

Gonna put some of that hushmat on it…

So on my Cuda, when I got it, I wanted to know what the rear axle ratio was…..I marked the rear wheel on the inside surface and a corresponding mark on the backing plate…..then a mark on the shaft yoke and a corresponding mark on the lump.

Wondering if 15×7 chrysler big bolt rally rims will fit a 1980 volare??? Would they be the same as the chryslre corporate steel rims???

The two horns on our 80 Volare are apparantly rotted internally. They will make a noise but very muted and croaky sounding.

Figured it was just out of adjustment, bad ground etc……but looked at all that and no change.

Have no immediate plans to get the A/C in our 80 Volare going…..I figure the kiddo can muddle through with no A/C just like his Dad has to inb the Barracuda…LOL….let him develop an appreciation for it.

That said, I am just sitting here ponderi…

Dangit….

Got home and the small chip on our 80 Volare windshield has trned into a foot long crack due to the warm weather getting frigid over night (I assume)….about a foot long crack now, 6 inches on either side of the chip.

(insert pulling my hair out thread here)

So…..PLEASE tell me that windshields are not ridiculously hard to find/expensive……

One positive here…..it already had a small 1/8″ crack in one corner, probably a sloppy install job on the aftermarket glass in…

Anyone with an F body, slant 6 A/C car know if its possible to yank the intake/exhaust manifolds without ALSO pulling the A/C & air pump, steering pump etc?
