I never saw a commercial for a ’70 Sport Fury GT until now:
Since these are from the Canadian (CBC) network feed of the 1969 World Series, and Chrysler was a major sponsor, there are numerous other 1970 Chrysler ads in here if you want to watch. Fun stuff.
Fuselage Quality
Over the last few years I have had an Ebay automated search running so that any new listings of C-bodies sends an alert to my inbox. I have noticed something over that time that has raised a question in my mind.
I tend to see a lot more ’68 and earlier C-bodies in relatively good condition than fuselage cars. That seems odd because the fuselage cars are obviously newer, and you would think that there would be more of them around. But I observe just the opposite. Cars that have some use, as…
The Car I Will Buy…
…if the owner ever decides to sell is this one, relatively local to me, a gorgeous ’70 Fury convertible. It just popped up at a show a friend was at recently and he sent me these pics. Apparently he was speaking to the owner – who bought it new, has never driven it in winter, and it is highly original. 383 under the hood. Right colors too. Holy crap. After the fellow has owned it for 46 years you have to wonder if he will ever sell, but I am keeping my eye on this one….
Speaking of Monaco-ized ’70 Polara convertibles…
Mark’s thread where he mentioned the red ’70 Polara convertible with the Monaco front and rear trim led me to do a little searching, and I found these two cars which may be the same vehicle. The second pic is clearly in Euroland.
Interesting, and though I like the ’71 Monaco rear end I think I’d prefer the ’70 bumper/taillights here. Does anyone know the story?
